  6. I hope all addiction specialists take the time to visit addicts on home turf.
Has this doctor been to a crack house?
Textbooks are necessary, as are real life experiences to understand addictive behaviour.
This is what I would hope for from a substance misuse therapist.

  7. cybercoackroach get help, stop using wtv you are using because you keep looking into my privacy and create delusions, get help, be strong and fix your depression you seem to have so many friends, get help and stay away from me, stop the weed or the alcohol which is the most likely thing you are using, yes i am lying and i am smoking to forget you, or to feel better cus i am salty lol you are so dumb i dont need drugs or alcohol, you are reflecting how you feel into me, stop looking into my privacy if you wanted to be my friend this was not the way to do it, thats why there are websites instead of harassing people you dont even know, again get help and keep me out of your life , are you 12 or a dummy?

  8. "My uncle had an alcohol problem. A bad one. But he kept it hidden for about 15 years.

The rest of the family didn't know. Just the immediate family. His bosses at work didn't even know. He always had a cooler on his desk that he drank all day.

But, just before his retirement, our family did an intervention meeting. And he went to the https://www.AsanaRecovery.com center in California. It took about 8 weeks. That was the longest 8 weeks of our lives. It worked and when he came out, he got his retirement from the job.

That story could have had a very different outcome. I am grateful for those care workers that help with addiction recovery. It is nice to see someone talking about how addiciton is a diease. This is not something often know.

  9. People that aren't alcoholics will never understand alcoholics. Quit trying. Even most of the people in the AA meetings were heavy drinkers that wanted a poor me cult to follow. If your hands don't shake when you haven't had a drink, you're not an alcoholic. You're just someone that wants an excuse to get drunk

  10. We have been going through the addiction process with a loved one. The amount of disordered thinking, the things that he has broken, the night time behavior, stealing from parents, yelling at parents who have been incredibly supportive, etc. How in the world can a person continue on this trajectory after being humiliated over and over and over again?  He is presently in an inpatient facility. He is not only addicted to alcohol, but also accumulating things, social media, cigarettes, cell phone, nighttime purchasing of alcohol and take out food. We hope and pray that he finally realizes that he needs long term help.
